Shine Initiative X The Simple Emotions Sweatshirts

The Shine Initiative’s mission is to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health conditions in youth and young adults. Shine is one of the few non-clinical, community-based mental health supports in Worcester County. Staff are all mental health awareness educators who provide schools and community organizations with education on mental health literacy, suicide awareness, self-care, coping skills and stress management, as well as help facilitate year-round Mindmatters teams, which are afterschool stigma reduction clubs in middle and high schools that elevate the voices of youth on mental health. Shine seeks to be as approachable, supportive, engaged and accepting as possible. Striving for personal connections, collaborations and above all else, to show that youth voices truly matter in the effort to make mental health a mainstream public health issue.
